Chris and Myra Vergani are the owners of this beautiful Inn.
After a 14 month search for just the right Bed & Breakfast property, we stopped in Black Mountain during a visit to Asheville and immediately fell in love with this town. After only an hour of walking the town, visiting shops and speaking with the various business owners, Chris told Myra that “this is exactly the kind of town I pictured when we began looking for an Inn.” As fate would have it, every shopkeeper we met that day told us that the Inn Around the Corner was for sale – you should look at that! Well we did, and six months later the Inn was ours.
We are very grateful for the care and hospitality that Roger and Nancy Schnepp, the former owners, showed to both the Inn and their guests for over 16 years. There are so many repeat customers who tell us of their fond memories of past stays, and we hope that we can keep up the traditions and the level of hospitality that the Schnepp’s have put into place.
Prior to becoming Bed & Breakfast owners, Chris had been a financial and accounting executive for over 30 years, which included the management of a variety of hotels and resorts that range from small boutique 34-room townhomes in the United Kingdom, mid-sized hotel properties in Florida and Washington, golf resorts, restaurants and large 4-diamond resorts including the Stowe Mountain Lodge in Stowe, Vermont and the Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes, California. Throughout his career, as part of the executive team, he has experience in hospitality leadership of both small and large scale properties.
Myra has a Master’s degree in Nutrition, is a Registered Dietician and a Certified Diabetes Educator. Currently she is a professor at Daytona State College teaching Nutrition and Health & Wellness. She has past experience in hospital dietary requirements and diabetes education. Myra’s background provides vital knowledge in food safety, dietary requirements and healthy choices for special dietary or allergy related needs.
Chris and Myra are both enthusiastic “foodies” who love entertaining and cooking. Chris loves to cook and create dishes, which Myra then tweaks to produce healthier versions that still retain bold flavors.
We are very happy with our new home in Black Mountain and welcome you to our Inn.
